Learning to live with autism and regression!

Hi everyone,

I'm a 50 year old man with the heart and brain of a child. I was diagnosed with autism in my late 40's, and although it makes things in life understandable I'm still learning to cope with things, and hopefully the community can help me.

I do involuntary regress and live life like a 6 - 8 year old, and occasionally I regress as young as 2 or 3 years of age. I no longer try and hide my regression or autism any more, and although I have challenges i'm happy.

I believe we should simply embrace who we are, and show society we exist.

I don't make friends easily but I'm happy to chat with anyone via messages.

  • Hi and welcome Robbie

One line stands out in your message "although I have challenges I'm happy" that's all any of us want just to be content.

I hope I can show the same courage as I navigate this new world. The only place I unmask is in my therapy session and I also feel very child like in there, although I don't think it is involuntary regress.

Hope you enjoy your time here.Slight smile
