Newley diagnosed and what’s next?

Hello everyone, im bookworm18 and I love books. Today has been quite a day, I had my telephone call after the assessments last month and I have autism. I’m in my late 20s and honestly it feels so liberating but sad that after all this time I was the way I am but was seen as a problem. I’m south Asian so I don’t really have people I can basically just talk about this. But now I’m like what’s next, I found this community by researching and will take one day at a time to learn more about myself again. Just wanted to say hi all and I’m glad this community exists.

  • Welcome to the community and congrats on your diagnosis!

Experiencing a myriad of emotions following the diagnosis is pretty normal for ASD. If you feel you are really struggling and don’t have anyone to talk to about it, you might benefit from seeking out counseling. Wishing you the best!
