Autistic, lonely, here because social prescribing said to try.

Parents Reply Children
  • There is no artificial time pressure / implied expectation to engage with replies.

We are here (when it feels right to you).

  • You could just browse around and reply with an occasional "Me too!" and nothing more. We all like to hear a "Me too!"; it makes us feel validated. A lot of us are struggling a bit with impostor syndrome, so knowing someone else can relate is very helpful.

Also, I like (in no particular order): rockets, bumble bees, AI, black holes, wild flowers, the moon (Hey, me too, !), trees in leaf, history, counting steps, cooking, F1, helicopters, AP tank shells, biographies, science podcasts, autism, sharpening pencils, opening and closing my hands, science fiction, seeing nature through polarised sun glasses (more colourful), lining up the glassware in the cupboard, fixing things, finding out how things work (hence "fixing things"), and several hundred other things that are currently out of my short-term rotation (I'm polypassionate).

You could, if it floats your boat, start a new thread with the subject: "Calling All Moonies". You'd get at least two people who'd join in.

  • Hey there Stevie. One thing you could try is listing things that you are interested in or not interested in. A lot of us find it easier to connect when we know that, since many of us have strong passions.

For example: I like disco culture, video game music, greyhounds, the moon, information/research on Autism, and etc.

Do you have anything you’re passionate about?
