Hello & looking for advice

Hello

Ive been trying and fighting to go further with a diagnosis as being autistic/ adhd  is my family  majority are on spectrum ive been told by family , friends and even my partner who is autistic himself  that even he notices a lot traits etc so I sought out diagnosis via my GP  I will note at this point i am adult 30 trying to get diagnosis or least find out things but the whole experience so far in there replies are constantly out right dismissive of my feelings and how ive tried to explain one response comes back this is just phycolgical issue and I strongly Now I don't have 1800 pounds + to go privately  so via nhs is the only way

Everything I present to them they call episodic one response even said adhd but yet wont allow me further  because they do t see medical history.

I dont know what else I can do or say  I know whay I know and truly feel I am o. The spectrum and highly feel its time to address everything especially when im constantly told these things from family and those who I live witb who are autistic themselves

  • Hi there, I’m sorry you are struggling at the moment. Drs these days don’t care about anyone but themselves and make their jobs easier despite being paid “a fortune”, half the time they aren’t even in office and they work from home. All I can suggest is keep pestering the drs and ask for an AQ50, I would also advise going with psych uk and say it’s your right to choose. Another option sounds bit more extreme but maybe try calling your local crisis service or go to A&E and maybe they can get in touch with your drs and take you more seriously. I had to jump through hoops to get my diagnosis and had over a two year wait but I was kept up to date with check ins with psych uk. I wish you the best
