Hi,
I'm diagnosed as Autistic and have recently started to understand myself a bit better. I bumbled through life for nearly 30 years not understanding why I couldn't make friends and struggle doing 'Normal' every day things that every one around me finds easy. My diagnosis has given me the comfort that I'm okay as I am. That it's okay to be different and struggle.
I get a lot of pressure from my dad. He thinks it’s a mind over matter thing and keeps wanting me to get out there and into the workplace, then I’ll be okay, he says. My mum is luckily a lot more understanding and supportive. My dads keeping on has led me to apply for a job at a cinema – I’ve no previous experience in any work setting but somehow I’ve made it to interview, this Thursday.
Gods help me!
I'm so excited to join this community... I've wanted to find out more about Autism, and find some guidance for my own life, as right now it's like flying with no pilot. Bit hectic.
It would be good to meet others who are like minded and have similar interests as well.
I like music, reading, collecting and hording things and love Disney. I also love sci-fi and science.
