Hey everyone!

Hi everyone!

Thought I’d pop in and introduce myself.

I’m 36 and recently trying to connect more with other autistic folks. I’ve known I’m autistic for a while, have been diagnosed for 18 or so months and while it’s brought challenges, it’s also helped me understand myself better — especially the way I think, feel, and interact with the world.

joined to hopefully chat with people who get it, whether that’s about daily life, special interests, or just existing in this world with a brain that runs a little differently.

Feel free to say hi or share any interests in common! Looking forward to being part of the community!

  • Hi, welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your diagnosis. I’m not diagnosed, but suspected autistic. Not only by myself but also by my therapist. I love aliens and space. Had some other interests in the past and they are still kinda special to me. For example I get excited when I see an old tram in the town. Now I have very little time for myself because I have a toddler. Sometimes I feel scared at the very thought of being a parent, but I hope I will manage it. The suspicion of autism explains very well, why I have so many misunderstandings with other people, and why I always get it wrong or totally don’t get the joke or sarcasm. And many other issues, like my mind wandering in black holes instead of paying attention to the daily things. I’m not sure if I ever get diagnosed, but I’m here to just connect and I often find myself in posts of other people here. I wish you find support here.

  • Thanks for the welcome, sounds like your doing alot self reflection and self awareness, it's great you can explore it with your therapist, Alien and paces sound cool I have similar interests.
