Hi. I'm autistic and my special interest is books and reading. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Cool! I’m also into fantasy. I also read some non-fiction about my favourite topics. I read most fiction books in English (since that’s often the original language) and non-fiction (or books that were written in a whole different language to begin with… I mean, it doesn’t matter anyway in that case) in my native language.
I love basically everything high-fantasy, like Lord Of The Rings, Dune (well, that’s technically also science fiction I guess) and Narnia, but also fantasy stuff like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. The Percy Jackson world has stayed with me since my early teens and is very dear to me. I recently started reading Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey (well, the German translation… I will not learn Homeric Greek for that) after I got back into mythology through the newest PJ-books and “Song of Achilles”.
One of my favourite books of all times has to be “Good Omens”. It is brilliantly written!
Hello.
I like actual physical books, rather than reading ebooks on an electronic gadget, which is an issue as I have hundreds of books. I can't throw them away, even though I am unlikely to read most of them again.
I've always liked science fiction, mostly for the ideas. Started reading adult books when I was 10. I also have biology/botany and andom history books.
I read slowly, stopping to consider things often. I also tend to read paragraphs more than once to make sure I didn't miss something.
I have considered trying to write something, but realised I don't know how to tell a story using dialogue between characters.
I’m reading Erich Von Daniken “Chariots of the gods”, tried to get “the eyes of the Sphinx” but was unavailable. I also loved “The secret Garden” and “Harry Potter” and also “The count of Monte Christo”, “Crime and Punishment” and “Anna Karenina”. It was interesting to read “the crime and punishment” together with my husband, but he had it in English and I had the original in Russian and then I took his book to read the chapter again to see, how it’s translated to English. The original tastes better. None of these two languages is my first language.
Aliens came to me from the Bible and I guess they will stay with me for ever. The only thing I hate about reading books is that they end and I want more of that world and I may even feel empty and depressed for few days because I want more, but there is no more.
Hello, thank you so much. And thank you for the link to that page, I will undoubtedly be a frequent visitor there!
Best wishes to you too!
My fave genres is fantasy, fiction and science fiction, followed closely by children’s books. I still own all the books I had from childhood and I like to read them now as much as I did then. Do you have a fave book? Or world that you like to read about? One of my fave fictional worlds is Narnia, I’ve always been totally absorbed by that world.
Hi thank you. I love lots of books. Some of my faves are The Secret Garden, the Harry Potter books, Game of Thrones, books related to aliens - I'm guessing those might be your faves? :) I like your PFP.
Hi and welcome to the forum! What books do you like?
Hey and welcome! I also enjoy reading although it is always more about the story/world/information than the actual reading. What is your favourite genre (if I may ask)?
Welcome Bookworm!
No one has posted on it in a while, but there is a thread for book suggestions here:

You’ll find there that there’s a lot of us that share that special interest around here. Best wishes!
