Hello from the Midwest

Hello! I’ve lurked here for a while, but only just now worked up the courage to make a profile and join in.

I am 33 years old, was diagnosed with ASD at 30 years old to go along with ADHD, major depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. I live in the United States. I have a wife and two daughters; One of which is diagnosed with Autism as well.

Previously I worked a while as a professor of music composition, but left the job primarily because of pay and imposter syndrome. Now I work as an employment specialist helping people with disabilities find jobs. So far this new job has been great because I can be as Autistic as I want and people don’t seem to be bothered.

My special interests include disco music and culture, how beautiful the moon is, ghost stories, and anything Nintendo. My hobby is remixing old video game music.

I’m in the middle of a pretty big move across the Midwest since I’ve got my new job, so I’m at a point in life where I’m craving new experiences and connections. If you need anything, let me know!

Best wishes

  • Hello! Welcome to the forum! Slight smile

Now I work as an employment specialist helping people with disabilities find jobs.

That's a great job! It's wonderful to be able to help people improve their lives!

  • Nice to hear from you & welcome to the forum.

It's always good to hear slightly different perspectives from across the world, although we have others here from the US too.

I'm sure many here will have things in common - particularly ghosts & Nintendo.

Please take time to have a look around previous threads and perhaps add one of your own !
