Hi,

Just wanted to do a quick introduction. My name is Lou and I have 3 children. My youngest 2 are possibly autistic, my 4 year old has a GDD diagnoses but is being assessed for autism soon and my 2 year old is very much in the same place my 4 year old was 2 years ago.

i will have lots of questions as things are chaotic here (in a good way usually)

Tony Attwood's website is quite positive and reassuring http://www.tonyattwood.com.au An Australian site but very applicable here.
Marc Segar's book on the web "Coping- a survival guide for people with asperger syndrome", while quite dated now, 1997, is often helpful because it explores lots of issues you just don't get in textbooks www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/.../survival.pdf If it doesn't come up just search the title.
Although more insight is around in more recent books, often the problem is getting them, and there are way too many with little guidance on what's good and what isn't, and cost a lot. If you can get them Marc Fleisher's "Making Sense of the unfeasible - my life journey with Asperger syndrome" Jessica Kingsley Pub 2006, is relevant to an early twenties perspective.

23 and only diagnosed with it last year . Really struggling just wanted this website to hope people will help me and make me realise it a but more as I feel totally lost and alone x

Hi Loopylou - welcome. I am also a mum of 3 little ones, one of whom has autism (that I'm currently aware of anyway!). We are familiar with the chaos you refer to!
