Hello. I am SuccessfulPeanut.

HELLO WORLD!

I am SuccessfulPeanut.  I am a 20 year old male and I was diagnosed with autism in 2013. I was referred to this forum by a close family member as I tend not to socialise as much.

I do not have many friends, but I don't mind. I think as much as I dislike the loneliness, I do not mind it and I in fact, welcome it as it was my own choice and actions that led to such a thing.

I would like to make friends though, albeit slowly. I hope everyone here is having an amazing Saturday. Godspeed! V

P.S. I like horror films a lot. I also like country music. I am a fan of music artists such as James Taylor and bands like Death With Dignity. That sort of music comforts me. I'd be open to knowing what your favourite things are as a conversation starter if you find yourself struggling to think of something to go with.

  • I agree about The Thing (that's the 1982 version). The soundtrack was great too. Even now I remember some of the lines - when I'm playing chess on the Xbox and I lose, I sometimes jokingly say "cheating B****!" Smile  but I don't go "full Macready" and pour whisky into it!

They made another version of it, I think in 2011, and I believe it's a prequel but I haven't watched it. You can't match the 1982 one in my opinion.

  • Hello Lotus, it's nice to meet you. Thank you for the kind welcome. The Thing is a masterclass in horror films, especially the VFX. I could go on and on about every little detail about it that this thread would be 10x longer, but I'll save you the trouble.

I have relatives who don't really watch horror films anymore. My mother, especially would jump at every single jumpscare that we were almost certain she'd have a heart attack one of these days, so thinking back to it, not watching them anymore is likely safer for her health.

I'm not sure if you know this horror film but one of my favourite horror films is the cult classic Session 9

  • Hi and welcome to the community.

I'm a woman in my sixties and I enjoy reading and playing video games. I used to like horror films when I was younger but don't tend to watch them now - I prefer sci-fi /comedy. My favourite horror movies of all time were Alien, The Thing, Dusk till Dawn and The Hunger.

  • I honestly couldn't come up with a good name haha but (un)fun fact about me i'm not a big fan of peanuts!! i do love cats though... they're such beautiful creatures.

And thank you!! i'm glad to be here.

  • Welcome to the forum, that's certainly an unusual & interesting name you've chosen.

Nice to hear from you.  I'm struggling to think of a link between cats & peanuts, but I'm sure it must be obvious!
