Hello :)

Hi everyone

I'm new here and wanted to say hello! I'm from Manchester, UK and now aged 30. I was formally diagnosed with ASD back in August last year (aged 29) having been "self-diagnosed" (a term I personally hate for the unnecessary assumptions it has brought on me) for around 3yrs prior.

I was so overwhelmingly elated and validated in receiving my diagnosis and am wearing my neurospicy badge very proudly! However, in the last few months I have been in a period of burnout like nothing I've ever experienced, so looking to this community for guidance, support and further validation. I'm also experiencing some unexpected familial relationship breakdown as a result, which is hard Pensive

Looking forward to starting to build up a rapport with many of you, and adding to the peer support I feel is very much present here!

Some - pretty naff Sweat smile - facts about me:

- Pretty certain I'm also ADHD, but we'll cross that bridge further down the line

- I love Stranger Things (hence the username), must be on my 10th re-run of the full four existing series' so far

- My job entails me advocating for neurodiversity and all strands of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) which gives me life!

- I have two little ones, 7 (daughter) and 3 (son) - my youngest for sure is ADHD, so hoping to gain some insights on that too as a parent

Cant wait to connect with some of you!

Speak soon, J

  • Hello and welcome StrangerThing, sorry for the slow reply. I like Stranger things too but probably not to your level, the first series was my favourite. D&D is one of my passions so good to see it feature in this programme as well as the 80's which is klind of my era growing up,
