Introduction

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 22 in August of 2024. At first it felt weird but didn’t change a whole lot, but as time has gone on I find myself questioning every little decision or thought and wondering if the autism has something to do with it. I wouldn’t say I’m “struggling” with it but it’s affecting my mental health, and I’m not sure where I can go to talk about it. Apologies if this is a messy post or if its too much information, I just wanted to get it out my head.

Your reaction is very normal. You’ll find lots of posts on here from people (including me!) about revisiting all sorts of incidents from our lives and thinking “ah, that’s why that happened” and in new situations or struggle in our lives interpreting it through the lens of a diagnosis.

I’m approaching the two year mark since my diagnosis and still processing it.
