Mother of Autistic Teen son

Hello, I'm Lin. I'm from the U.S. and looking for a support group, don't know where to turn these days, just hoping to meet other parents with Autistic teens. My son is 16, autistic, rigid, and suffering from depression.

Hi Lin thats the great thing about this site, no matter how isolated you think you are and how much you you are the only famiy going through this there are many on this site going through the same to help. There are good books on this site you can buy to have some understanding . How long has your son been diagnosed?

Thanks. I hope to get some ideas, it's going on 3 years now with little to no change. I'd also like to know what other parents do to cope? Or books I should read to keep from falling into depression myself. It really hurts and gets frustating.

Hi I am in the same boat, new to this site, my 17 year old son has aspergers and is clinically depressed. He was suicidal but not any more , still struggles with all sorts of anxietys. I have found really great advice onthis site , fabulouse poeple and great site . good luck
