Hi from Wales

Hi,

I'm a 50 year old woman who was diagnosed last year. I'm currently going through a separation, so grateful for any advice on how to cope with things like mediation and the stress of numerous legal questions. I would love to speak to others who have gone through this as well.

I live near the sea and enjoy a quieter life by working from home. In my spare time I like watching films, walking, reading and writing fiction.

Hoping to meet new autistic friends here.

  • Hello Leni.  Welcome to this place.

In terms of stress control help, I am an advocate for the techniques disseminated by Dr Andrew Huberman.

I find his advice and insight on using breathing techniques really good (although his presentational style is not really for me!)

I use the "Physiological Sigh" quite regularly to help keep myself levelled when I feel triggered.  It works for me almost instantly.

I love this particular technique because I have watched both babies and dogs do it.........and I'm pretty sure they don't watch You Tube!!

    See you around in here.

  • Hello and thank you for your message.

Thanks for the stress control tip - I will have a look and let you know how I get on. I've found grounding techniques helpful, but still struggle with de-stressing through breathing, so thanks. I am also now curious about seeing babies and dogs use this technique!
