Hello!

Hey, I'm just here to introduce myself.

My names Nikki, and I'm a single parent of two, and my daughter has Aspergers.

It was a huge relief when she was diagnosed, as it answered a lot of her own questions, as well as mine. Since this she has over come those difficult stages, and seems to understand herself much better. I won't say everydays a 'bed of roses', but we seem to be getting there!

I'm just grateful to be blessed with such amazing children, my son is so caring and understanding of his sister, and supports her in everything she does.

  • Hey,

My daughter is now 17, and she was diagnosed during her 2nd or 3rd year at secondary school (Yr 8-9). My son who is 15, came to all the sessions and meetings with us, it gave him a better insight to how my daughter was feeling, and what Asperger's is.

He is very protective of her, as she is of him.

My son has a very open mind, and is quite comical, so when she's feeling down and I can't get through to her, he is the one that really helps to lift her mood. He's a great support, for both of us!

Don't get me wrong, my kids aren't perfect, they fight like cat and dog sometimes - but when push comes to shove, they look out for eachother!

I think if you sat down with your son, and chatted openly about it all it might help? I know it did for me.

    Hope this helps???
