Hello.

Hello everyone. My name is Phoebe.
I was diagnosed with autism in 2021 and since then life has been an interesting journey of self discovery, discovering more and more about myself and autism every day.

My favourite things to do are walking, listening to music, reading, drawing, collecting Lego and Funko Pops, writing, watching fun animated movies and spending time with my lovely cat Patches.

I also have diagnosis's of ADHD and anxiety which isn't much fun but I try to make the best of it. I'm lucky that I get a lot of help for my ADHD but haven't found much support for my autism yet.
I'm working but feel this might be burning me out so I've cut down my hours to try and balance everything out.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and have fun. Slight smile

  • Hello

Welcome to the newer version forum.

I was diagnosed in 2004 and unfortunately got largely ignored. It's something I don't like to talk about.

I do volunteer work for a charity about twice a month. We do different things like arts and crafts, games night and quiz night.

I like photography, reading graphic novels (I can't function very well in winter); colouring and puzzle books. Being creative with Lego.

  • Hi thank you. Slight smile I spoke to a community mod earlier and he/she said about the new forum. I think this forum is really neat, enjoying it so far.

I'm sorry your diagnosis wasn't well received. I've had this with my family, it's not easy, I hope you're more understood now and have found things easier. It was a bit of a rocky time during and after my diagnosis but now I feel I know and understand myself a lot better than I did then. Things are still hard but I feel they've gotten easier now I better understand myself.

Your volunteer work sounds fun. I used to volunteer at a school, I now work in a preschool. I found volunteering was good for my anxiety and it was a very rewarding thing to do.

I love Lego! What type of Lego do you like? I collect the Lego minifigures and the Disney sets. I love Disney too!
