My son Albie is 23 months old and is under the IBasis study for Autism. He's classed as high risk, is completely non verbal.
He's an affectionate, beautiful little boy who gets very frustrated at being unable to communicate his needs. He struggles to make eye contact, doesn't respond to his name. Has multiple stims and sometimes bangs his head against walls and the sides of his cot.
I'm debating attempting to claim Disability allowance for him. But don't know whether they will even consider us due to his age. I don't know when he will be diagnosed as he is under the child development unit also so we might have a chance at getting an official diagnosis earlier.
Has anyone been in the same situation with their child ? Any advice will be really appreciated.
