not telling the truth

im new on here our 8 year old daughter diagnosed in january we knew but glad to have it offical My problem is understanding why she behaves the way she does lying about things or not taking ownership of what she does her behaviour seems older than she is ie older films,language all things she thinks she can do ,mixing in with people who are trouble for her is this all normal and what do i do ???Undecided

  • The lying could either be her interpretation of things is different (which it is) or that she has low empathy so doesn't understand the impact her lies have on others, or that she is lying as a form of self-defence as she has realised she is different and might have been bullied or treated differently by others.
