Hi I've just signed up for a bit of support really ! My youngest son 6 is just going through the process of diagnosis with school and family working on the assumption he has high functioning autism/aspergers. He's really struggling at school now with the social situations, annoying others and hurting them because he's not great at social cues. School have been really supportive but have suggested to my son excluding him for the following day when he hurts other children. I feel like this is quite drastic ? Or am I just defensive ?!! He gets upset when he's told off but doesn't really understand why he behaves that way or why the behaviour is unacceptable. At home he is obsessive about various things and becomes stressed if we can't do them immediately. Can anyone advise how long appointments take to come through - we have been referred to the paediatrition directly by the school and gp. I know it can be lengthy , just any idea and or advice would be much appreciated
