Please read - spam & scams

Unfortunately, our forum over the weekend was subject to an automated spam attack. Like many forums, we're periodically subject to this. Our volunteer moderator Adel was able to hide the posts yesterday.

If you see any posts advertising a way to get passports or documentation, please ignore them, it's a scam & we will remove them.

It is a criminal activity, and spammers only need a response or two to make these attacks worthwhile. It can lead to identity theft.

In addition - anyone posing job opportunities or the like should be treated with caution and ignored. We're not currently posting job opportunities in the forum and are unlikely to do so.

We're working to increase the number of moderators we have. However, it's likely spam will be up for a few hours at least before they can be removed.

As a general rule, if you see any recent posts from new members that requires you to give over personal information - don't. It's against forum rules to hand over personal information for your own safety and it may cause liability issues for the NAS.

We're also looking to update the security of the site to prevent this from happening in the first place, but it's a fine line between keeping the forum accessible yet secure.

If you've got any concerns, please email us on community.manager@nas.org.uk
