hello :)

Hi everyone,

I am mummy to a gorgeous girl who is 6. She has only been recently diagnosed due to many reasons. We have done alsorts from genetic testing to living abroad which have delayed this diagnosis. However things are now moving rapidly and that is exciting but challenging. My dd has always been in mainstream but has been accessing a earby Special School several times a week. Now we are looking at her moving into that school part time initially then full time.

I have been a teacher for 18 years and for 12 or so of those I have taught in Special schools. Whilst this is helpful, it has not prepared me, or my husband and older daughter, for living with a child with Autism. We are mostly great but sometimes, like everyone else, it scares me. I try not to think of the future but to live in the present and confront each challenge as we get there.

I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone and to your fabulous advice Laughing
