Joined today and having a look around. I have two girls and am a working single mum. My eldest (now 14) was diagnosed in 2012 with bipolar, Aspergers and ADHD. She was placed on meds and all seemed to be going better. We were seeing a private Psychaitrist under health insurance which topped out earlier this year and so we had to go to CAMHS which has caused some upheaval and appointments are very few and far between.
Daughter is in private school as I think she would get lost in state school (who knows ifn that was the right decision!). School are constantly on at her to get more organised and to keep up with homework but she cant.
Recently she has talked to some of the older kids in school about suicide and self harm which has freaked the school out. Her psychologist explored it with her and is confident she is not going to do anything drastic.
That and some other issues with the ex (their dad) has now led to me being diagnosed with anxiety and depression and I have been off work for 5 weeks!
thought it was time to put in the effort to find some support as I do often feel I am doing this all alone as their dad lives overseas, has remarried and never contacts them
I look forward to getting to know people here and finding some support
