I have believed for a few years now that I'm fairly certain I have High functioning autism, I,'ve recently filled in an assessment form at my doctors  to have it confirmed one way or the other. There is a lot of autism on my father's side of the family from low functioning to High functioning. I'm a woman of 58 so I'm fairly old to be getting diagnosed but personally it would be very beneficial for  me to know as it would make things much clearer to me how my life has turned out the way it has.

    I was 67 when I was assessed as ASD High Functioning.  Having it recognised was quite simply the best thing ever; so much of my past now makes sense. I just wish I'd known earlier in life... much earlier.
