Hi everyone, am soooooooooo glad i found this group, have been reading through some other posts and its so comforting to realise your not alone. Im a mum to 2 boys age 13 & 10, and am currently waiting for a review from a peadiatric consultant for my youngest lad. At age 2 he was reffrerd by a helath visitor for a delay in both speech and walking, after what felt like an eternity he was diagnosed with both hypermobility and developmental delay, was told by consultant however he would catch up eventually, not 2 worry and was promptly discharged. (consultant did say however she would review him just b4 he moved up to high school just to check up on him, this is the appointment we r currently waiting for)  Fast forward to the present day, and im desperate for some advice from other perants, He hand flaps a Lot especially when excited, he bangs his feet also as if running on the spot (this happens at same time as hand flapping) he also pulls faces (dont know n e other way to put it,lol). He has avid dislikes of the most peculier things google earth being the current one, at school in the payground he prefers to walk round alone even though he does have freinds who want to play with him, He also hates the feel ov denim jeans, he also finger bites a lot.he also overly sensesitive to things and will become emotionally attahced to inanimate objects. im just so confused, have read up about autism etc and he does fit in with this but then again i dont wanna sound like a mum whos trying to get my son diagnosed with somthing he hasnt got, if that makes sense! oh bugger im waffling now, lol. N e way thankyou in advance for n e advice n e one can give me, it will b greatly appreciated as im feeling a likkle bit lost at the moment,xx

  • Thankyou for your reply and advice Crystal12, im just waiting for his appointment to come through, (yet another waiting game, lol) i keep talking to him about moving up and he seems really excited and cant wait to move, he is an absolute maths whizz and loves nothing more than trying to take over his older brothers homework (older brother will happliy let him, this is somthing i have to put a stop 2,lol) he says he cant wait to get there and spend time in the maths department, when he answers a qs correctly the hand flapping/feet stamping and face pulling go into overdrive!  and yes will definently keep checking in with u guys, am going to give it another week or so and if havent heard n e thing from hospital will ring and try and give them a slight nudge. Think this site is going to become a god send to me, :-D
