Recently diagnosed

Hi everyone, I'm Sam. I've waited nearly 9 years for my diagnosis and am told the adhd will be another few months now. So it's hit hard, I've struggled my whole life, always been 'that kid' and found myself in the worst places as a child and young adult. I'm angry, I'm down and pushing everyone away.

This is tougher than I thought it would be...

  • Hello Sam.  It is existentially tough at times.

You write with resonance to my experiences within the last decade or so.  We are a similar age.

Don't panic.....sometimes it is hard to breathe and in any way, to think clearly.....it's a journey.

Don't despair, there is a "journey's end".  You will come out much calmer, in all probability.

Stay sane whilst you're on the ride - perhaps stay on these pages for a while - and try not to metaphorically soil your own clothing.

    In presumptive understanding,

    And with my best regards,

    Number.

  • o understand.

The new medical class is valid.

I agree with what you write.

Let's hope it improves with the diagnoses: you can already have them at 2 years of age.

There is a way to understand
    1. Thank you, I do feel like I've been robbed though. I'm trying to hold everything together but don't know how to...
  • Hi. Was diagnosed on 1.3.23 and I am 72. Hang in there Sam. I am thinking of you.
