Hi I`m new

Hi I`m new on here and CPN said a few months ago i have Aspergers. Feel really alone with no family or close friends. Feel really let down by my CPN, as she doesn`t always follow through and do the things she says she will help me with. She said she would contact me  and I`m still waiting for appointment now 14 weeks later. I had letter to attend prospects ascents appointment this monday,so i txt her and she said she`d phone them,but hasn`t contacted me back to let me know,so now i`m dealing with worrying that if she hasn`t phoned them my benefits may be affected,as i can`t attend and also feeling let down because she hasn`t let me know about it.I think it`s the worst thing ever,for people with aspergers or autism to be or feel let down by others.

  • You could see your GP about this, as if your CPN/her department is not responding to contact from you your GP will have more clear lines of communication with them.

    I'm a little bit concerned that a CPN is telling you you "definitely have Asperger's" as even if she's right, without a formal assessment by a qualified clinician she should not be telling you that.  If an assessment stated no Asperger's or other condition(s) you will be left feeling confused and even let-down having expected it to be Asperger's.  it's just unethical of her.

    I think all NHS/LA services are pretty unreliable really.  It's not right but that's how it is.  Due to funding, resources, attitudes, culture and no policing of their failures.

  • Hi I am on waiting list to get diagnosed with aspergers.My CPN says i definetly have it. I have no idea about my appointment tomorrow,as CPN didn`t let me know and i sent a txt to the prospect ascents advisor,but no reply. It`s because they have put me with new advisor who doesn`t know i had agreement that i txt my other advisor instead of attending.Hopefully the advisor will look at my notes and txt me,because i won`t be able to answer the phone. I`v had 2 CPN`s and both of them haven`t been very reliable at all and it just makes me feel so angry towards them. In my head i have a backlog of all the things she said she`d help me with,but hasn`t

  • Do you have a local charity who can contact your CPN on your behalf? If your CPN  knows you have told someone else how they are treating you and how this is affecting you, then he/she may be inclined to do their job properly. Even the citizens advice if thier isn't a more specific charity.

  • Hi - have you a diagnosis of aspergers or was it something your cpn said to you and does she understand how important it is that she follows through and does what she says she'll do?   Have you been able to get your appointment on Monday cancelled and rearranged?  I think you would be better served by having a different cpn.
