Asd assessment

Hi everyone,  my daughter is 17 and is awaiting an assessment.  We are being referred through cahms. I already filled in so many tick sheets re how she was as a child (which I really could not recal) so now she has been offered an assessment. Could take upto 18 weeks they said.

Anyone know what it will involve ? Will she go alone?

Will I have to do those forms again? So worried I won't tick the same boxes .

Many thanks

  • Please try not to worry. A good team should put you both at ease.

They will want to talk to both you and your daughter, but I doubt it will be tuck sheets they will want. More for you to describe how she learned to talk, walk, made friends, played etc.

If you've got child hood videos of her they may be interested. Old school reports might reveal something. Collect those together. Relax a d just be candid.

18 weeks these days is quite good going. Hope all goes smoothly.
