Hello new to thw community

Hi everyone

I am new to the community.  My 11 year old son has been diagnosed with asc. It took a long time and a lot of fighting just to get him assessed. We always knew there was something so the diagnosis was not a huge shock. The big shock was what do we do next?  For all the assessment information they give you once we got the diagnosis it has basically been "you are on your own now". Not aure were to turn next.

  • Hi - sounds like you had a battle to get the diagnosis.  I wd apply for a statement of educational needs so your son can have whatever support he needs at school.  There's info via the home pg.

  • Welcome mommybear, you have made the turn already with getting the diagnosis for your son, it should be a straight road now. You need to get a group of health workers to help your son, I would suggest go to the social work to get an assessment of his needs and they put in a support network to bridge those needs in the environment he needs.

You are not on your own and they clinic which diagnosed your son should guide you to resources.
