Hi everyone

Hi, this is my first post and not sure what to say.

I was diagnosed with asd this time last year at 30 years old. My life finally makes so much sense! It was such a relief for me because I have always been so hard on myself for not fitting in with the norm.

I'm 31 now, never worked or had a relationship and feel terrible for it! Like I said I'm so hard on myself.

I'm waiting for psychological input hopefully in the near future so I can finally start living!

It will be good to chat with like minded people and hopefully feel less alone.

  • Hi, I am in my late 30’s and finally in the process of getting diagnosed. It has been a barrier in education and progression in my desired profession leaving me feeling burnt out and not quite fitting in when in social situations so I can understand where your coming from.

I am working on being less hard on myself, accepting certain aspects of my character, but also appreciating the positive qualities that’s come with being autistic.

    You are not alone.

  • Hi, that's great you're in the process of getting diagnosed. Doesn't make everything better but for me I needed it to understand myself better and learning to accept myself for who I am and not what I haven't achieved in life.

There's loads of positive qualities that come with asd. Thank you for your reply it's so nice to hear from people on the spectrum and read different people's stories I do actually feel less alone.
