Hello!
I am currently waiting for diagnosis process to start after being granted a referral by my GP. I'm looking forward to getting an answer because I have always felt like something was broken or wrong with me because I've never fit in and struggled with a lot of "normal" things. But being told I may be autistic was a huge relief to me because I know a few autistic people who are awesome. I also feel extremely validated. I'd love to hear your experiences of diagnosis.
Kat x
Hi Kat! Welcome in. I was recently diagnosed and though it was a lot of stress and waiting it's definitely worth it in the end. When I received my diagnosis all the puzzle pieces fit and I finally had a lot of the answers to my questions. I hope it will be the same for you :)
Welcome home, Kat!
Hi Kat,
I am awaiting formal diagnosis like you after a GP referral, and also felt 'different'/not fitting in for many years. However, after recently being advised that autism is a likely explanation, I am feeling better about myself despite the ongoing symptoms and social issues I have. This forum is also providing me with a boost/knowledge I am not really alone/different to everybody else..
I hope you don;t have to wait too long. I am trying to speed up the process with private health insurance via work, but that is proving very difficult. Good luck x
Hello!, never feel alone with anything! I’m hoping you get the answers your looking for soon. I’m in the same boat as you with fitting in..
give me a private mail on here x
Hello
Welcome to the community forum.
I was diagnosed when was 20 years old by my friend dad (had a good relationship with until he died); mine was ignored and tried to carry on. Also bullying.
Teachers knew and didn't tell anyone. Thought had learning disabilities.
