Hi everyone,

My name is Alex. I'm new to the NAS community and looking forward to meeting and learning from other autistic people. I received my diagnosis in October 2021 at the age of 30, and once I got over the surprise it made perfect sense!

I am a research scientist by training, but now work as a medical writer in the North West of England. Although my employer has been very supportive with regards to my diagnosis there still exists a barrier stopping me from fitting in as well as I hope to. My understanding is that I am the only autistic employee within my agency. However, I am determined to use that as an opportunity to educate and increase understanding of autism in the workplace - any and all ideas are welcome!

I look forward to meeting new friends, so please do say hello (I don't bite, at least not all the time!)
