I am a single parent and my son is 19 years old with Autism. At the moment due to a lot of changes in our lives my son is showing very challenging behaviour and i am on my own to dealing with this. Are there any parents in the similar situation who might have experience and advice for this situation? I dont have many people to talk to about this and i feel helpless at times. I love my son and am trying to be the best i can to support him but he can become very hyper active due to his anger so am not sure how to deal with it. Thanks everyone.
Hello NAS80052,
I'm glad to hear that you want to support your son in his challenging behaviour. The NAS website has a page on 'distressing behaviour' which might help you understand your son's behaviour and support him. Here is the link: https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/behaviour/distressed-behaviour/all-audiences
All the best,
