Hi,
I'm a Dad to a 23mnth old girl and 11wk old boy,
Our little girl has showed signs of "switching off" for a little while but over the past couple weeks she's started having "meltdowns" and nothing will calm her till she's exhausted herself, is there any ways of being able to try breaking the cycle or is it just something that can't be helped, and has to stay the coarse till its over?
Just overwhelmed with it and don't know where to look for any answers.
Thanks Dan
Hi Dan, We do have some advice pages here on the NAS site that you might want to have a look at. Our section on behavioural issues is here - https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/behaviour - and meltdowns specifically is here - https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/behaviour/meltdowns/all-audiences - however, I'm afraid this advice might be of limited use to you as it's targeted more at older children. If you want to know more about the process of getting an autism diagnosis, our section on diagnosis is here - https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/diagnosis. Best wishes,Ross - mod
