I'm new here :)

Hi everyone, I've got Son who's 20 months nearly 21 months, we've been told he had traits of autism but because of his age they won't say he has. We have sure start working with us who agrees that he does, and my mum who works closely with autistic children and she agrees aswel, we also have a speech therapist who is working closey with our community paediatrician she also agrees. The thing im struggling with at the moment is the violence, he's only 20 months but he hits, kicks, bites, pinches, punches, scratches, slaps and even strangles. He's a big lad for 20 months aswel so everything hurts. But every suggestion we have been given hasn't worked. So I'm hoping someone here can help me? Every 10-20 minutes I'm getting punched or hit and I really can't cope any more. So if anybody could help us I'd be so so so grateful. Thanks :)

    Hi Hope,

If your child is screaming for hours on end during the night and you are at your wits end what do you do? Like everyone you look for answers and when you come across some parent who has similar experience and they made remarkable progress…they certainly have my attention.

Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride knows about children’s health from personal experience. Her son was diagnosed autistic when he was three. At three and a half, he started a program of treatment

Yes you are right they may not be necessarily correct for you as each child is different and there is no magic fix but if you don’t try you will never find out and the suffering continues for everyone!

Only do things things you clearly understand is the way forward. For me Diet and 1-1 work whatever that may be makes sense and produces results.
