Confused 44 year old woman

I'm still trying to work it out, but online tests highly suggest autism. I've self referred for counselling about something else, but part of my research has led me here. I've always been highly anxious and depressed, but 'good' at covering it up. I took the 'CATQ' test and I can't quite believe that what I've been doing for years is not what other people do. I think my chronic illnesses have distracted me from fully appreciating who I am.

  • HI Numberwang. I've just been diagnosed aged 37. I always felt different and there were some things I struggled with and some things I didn't even start to appreciate were not typical until much later in life. My son was diagnosed a few years ago and as I started to research autism I started to see an awful lot of things that I recognised in myself.
