Hi

Hello,

I'm on the spectrum and like to think myself a nice person and very creative in lots of different ways. Looking to get some friends and be myself here as I'm constantly masking around family and its railing me. Finding some coping tips for anxiety and suicidal thoughts would me good as well but one thing at a time.

For now. Hello Slight smile

  • Hello @summer

Thank you for sharing this with the community. I'm sorry to hear that you have been having these thoughts. It’s good that you’ve let us know how you feel. Many people have similar thoughts when coping with so much and we hope you’re okay.

If you are unable to cope with the distress or despair, it’s very important to tell someone about your feelings or thoughts of suicide. Call your GP and make an urgent appointment. Your GP can make sure you get appropriate help and support.

If it’s outside your GP hours call  111 to reach the NHS 111 service:

    https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/urgent-and-emergency-care-services/when-to-use-111/

The Samaritans also provide confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day on 116 123, or by email on jo@samaritans.org.

MIND have information pages on coping with self harm or suicidal feelings based on the experiences of people who’ve been through it that you may find helpful.

If you are very close to doing something to hurt yourself - call 999 now or go to your nearest A&E department. There should be someone there to support you and make sure you get ongoing support.

You can find more information here:

    https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/mental-health/suicide

If you were interested in counselling (NHS & private), you may like to have a look on the Autism Services Directory: https://www.autism.org.uk/directory under ‘Health & Counsellors’.

If there are no counsellors in your area on the directory, you may like to try the links suggested at end of this webpage:

    All the best,

  • Hey Chloe thanks for your message.

I have thought of calling my GP but in honesty I have a lot of fears and anxiety with doctors and they cause me to have panic attack, even talking to them on the phone I feel like I'm suffocating. It's something I'm trying to work on but so far I'm no better with this. If you have any advice regarding this that would be good.

But I see you have left me some links ah u well and these look like they could be really helpful as well so thank you! I will look at them now.

And of course if things get really bad I will call 999 but I'm hoping it won't ever come to that.

Thank you for your message and for the links Chloe :)
