Hello,
my almost 9 year old son was (finally) diagnosed with Asperger's 3 months ago. Not a surprise for us really - he is now in Year 4 and has had a statement since Year 1. Was under the category of social/behavioural until now. I also have 2 younger girls aged 6 and 2 1/2. Starting to explain to him what his diagnosis actually means is quite difficult! He is aware that he is "different" and has very low self esteem. Would like to get to know some other parents locally particularly as we are starting to think about senior school.
