I'm new to using forums like this, not sure what to expect to get from this but thought it was time to talk to other people.

I have a 24  year old daughter with Aspergers, ODC, sever depression, and tantrums that have been becoming more violent lately.

At the moment life is rubbish, no help from GP or psychiatrists. She lives at home, so we get no break from her, she doesn't go out and hasn't slept for a whole since the day she was born.

So i thought I would join the community and see if anyone has any advice or just somewhere where I could come and chat to other people who might be going through similar things to us.

    Any replies are really helpful, we have had a chat with her about what she wants in the future but she changes her mind all the time.

    I will as has been suggested started to shout and make a fuss, as it looks like this is the only way to get any help.

  • Hi - autismtwo is right.  Especially with the cuts in local government social services depts,  those who don't push things to the limit are likely to get fobbed off.  I don't know how far you've pushed things, but I do know they respond to crises.  What does your daughter want for her future.  Would she like to live independently with a level of support?  At some point in the future you may not be able to support her at home so I think it's worth having the discussion with her.  Apologies if you've already done or tried to do this.

    From the state perspective she is contained and is no harm to society. Well done you have just become a community warden for the state operationing a home jail on there behalf. If she escapes(lives independant) and displays violent(externally in the community), your overseers aka GP and psychiatrists would assist her as it a criteria management situation, the most cost effective way to work for state as they ignore the situation until it has been noticed(political exposed on mass consensus), until then it is low level and not acknowledged. Autism shhhhh !

    So lost,, my advice, GET NOISY ! A mothers wrath is a blessing to a society.
