5 year old daughter just idiagnosed :-(

Hi, we got a diagnosis last week that our gorgeous 5 year old girl is autistic. I had had an inkling that something was going for a couple of years and her speech therapist with our consent, referred her for assessment and here we are with a diagnosis. They were reluctant to say 'mild autism' but that is essentially what she is as her traits are very subtle apparently. she is in main stream school but her speech and language (despite being assessed and within the average range) is still immature against her peers and she is also unable to read as yet, but can recognised letters and numbers. I guess my question is going forward, will her learning stay at the same levely as now or will she be able to still learn and develop? I'm thinking she may always be that little bit behind her peers so we're preparing ourselves for that but what i don't understand are the implications for her learning going forward.

Thanks for reading!
