Newbie just saying hello

Hi everyone

Our 4 year old boy recently got diagnosed with ASD.

We're actually quite relaxed about our son's diagnosis. We suspected it for a long time and we believe there are other members in both families, mine and my husband's, who might have autistic traits. We could probably have had my son diagnosed sooner if it weren't because a health visitor and a paediatrician who saw him -in brief appointments- weren't sure about him being autistic. It was not until the school nursery pressed on the issue that wheels started moving faster. He seems to be on the mild end of the spectrum, although his speech is quite delayed.

In the meantime, I found the NAS website to be very helpful while we were waiting for the diagnosis, so I thought it would be a good idea to join this board to perhaps get some tips from other parents with more hands on experience.

See you around Smile

Great to have you on board with the NAS Community Discussion Boards, I hope you find it useful. Have a look around - there are lots of parents on here who I'm sure will have lots of tips and support to offer you.
