My 4 year old son was just diagnosed with autism yesterday. Was a bit surprised as he’s been improving over time (showed many more signed when he was about 2-3). After coming out of my state of shock at the fact that this will probably be a lifetime struggle for him I’m also extremely relieved that it was diagnosed early on and he will hopeful as access to a lot of help and I can be much more well informed and can support him better. No idea on what the next steps are. Anyone have any words of wisdom or helpful advice? Thanks in advance :)

I was diagnosed thirty years ago; while I was twelve. Being ahead of the bunch is putting it mildly.

Your Son will be gifted, but vulnerable. Please be a good steward.
