Hello everyone, I am a Mum of a newly Diagnosed High Functioning ASD 7 year old boy. I am looking forward to joining in and sharing some experiences and getting some help and advice! Smile

  • Hi there ! He's never really got 'into' toys, he does have Lego but prefers to play rain or windscreen wipers with it! We have Lego in boxes unopened from Christmas 2011! 
     He has some brio type railways as he likes trains, but rarely plays that.
    He does though like creating massive lines of pencils around the house from room to room. He likes to collect candles.
    Oh actually he is very into Minecraft game on my PC, he creates worlds filled with lamposts and pylons (a couple of his obsessions). But if the game lags to load graphics (or jags as he calls it) that can bring on a meltdown, which gets taken out on my keyboard!
    It's actually his 8th Birthday today, all he wanted was Dominoes and a Chocolate Orange!

  • Is he into Lego?  I have just been taken into the world of LEGO Chima and LEGO Minifigure Star Wars - fascinating for a mother!    I spent two hours trying to lure him away from the LEGO aisle in Toys R Us yesterday and then spent tonight examining the different changeable heads and examining the Encyclopedia of the Mini Figures which sets out which series they all belong to.  I'm exhausted!  Ha ha.  What is your little ones interest?  Smile
