Yet another newbie! Mommy to recently diagnosed Aspie son

Hello one and all,

 

As per subject my 11 year old (eldest son) has recently been diagnosed with Aspergers, after what has seemed a tough road he is finally getting some of the help he needs.

I also have 2 younger sons of 9 and 7 who have sadly been quite affected by the outbursts/meltdowns of my eldest son :(.

I am interested how people have coped with explaining and having time with other siblings as well as postive parenting for my eldest man.

  • Hi, just joined, got a 9 yr old son who was diagnosed with aspergers 2 yrs ago. I have other children too ranging from 17 down to 6. Be good getting to know some of you. Sure Im not the only one when I say this, but it can make you feel alone when it seems no one else understands your child and why they do the things they do. The stares and comments are not always ignorable. How do you all cope with that?
