Hello I'm new, after some advice please?

Hello, I'm Gem, mum to Tom aged 6. After a traumatic first year in school Tom is now (again) being assessed for Autism in year 1. He attends a mainstream but has major difficulty, therefore at the moment he only attends 9-12. He has been excluded on 2 occasions (don't even get me started on them!) The 'professionals' have mentioned Aspergers, ADHD and also PDA. After reading the article on PDA on this site, I feel like the author came to our house, observed Tom then wrote it! The similarity is shocking. But there is a line in the report that I wanted to enquire about, can I ask if anyone knows what "passive early history" means please? Many thanks xx
  • hi - welcome.  I think this phrase "passive early history" is related to PDA - "pathological demand avoidance".   You can get lots of info via this site or by googling it.  I hope Tom's assessment doesn't take too long.  It sounds like school life is difficult for him.  The sooner he gets the support he needs at school, the better. bw
