Tip toe walking

Hi what is tip toe walking

My child is waiting on an assessment and was reffered again by another health professional.

However, my child stood on tiptoes to get something out of reach.

This was the only time my child stood on tiptoes, and the health professional believes this to be a trait of autism. My child walks on flat feet always.

Is this a trait of autism. In my belief and my experience people who do this walk around majority of their time walking on their tip toes.

Can anyone give advice please

Parents
  • it is not a major autistic trait -  and yes those u do it do it quite a bit and its not a one off thing

let the health professional do their thing. If they diagnose/suspect  "Autism" ask for a report/letter as to why they think its autism.

here is some more info on toe walking

  • Thank you so much. Yes I just want a better understanding as I have never met anyone with autism.

I just want my child diagnosed correctly to receive the relevant help needed.

If my child is autistic I believe its in certain areas and I do disagree with some areas which the professionals are stating.

Thank you so much for this.
