Fond and pleasant greetings

Hello everyone,

My name is Sarah and I am the mother to an adorable 5-year old boy who has an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. My son was diagnosed aged 2 1/2 and also has global developmental delay. He is a happy child and has come on in leaps and bounds. He is walking and talking and is gifted in being able to read just about anything, a gift that has developed naturally. He attends a wonderful special school with very caring staff and he has even made some friends in his class, which iis amazing.

He was lucky to get an early diagnosis and has now got his Statement of educational needs. I feel blessed for sharing my life with him. He brings so much joy and light to my life and has taught me to have more patience, love and compassion.

Lovely to meet you all and to hear all your experiences.

  • Hi everyone.  I'm new to this too. I am a mum of 3 and my eldest is a 5 year old boy with ASD and global developmental delay.  He is also a very happy and wonderful little chap.  Making progress in his own way, every day.  Attending main stream school with lots of support.  Just starting on the statement process.  Nice to hear from other people in the same situation.
