My 12 year old son has just been diagnosed autistic and I'm trying to find out as much as I can on how to support him best. Worried about how to tell him as I fear he may google/you tube information and scare himself rather than help. Thanks x

  • hi Alli - welcome to the site.  There are posts about telling your child about the diagnosis so have a look around.  I think you're right to be concerned about him going online + reading stuff that might worry him, so I think the ball's in your court.  The nas site has loads of info, as you probably know, so take your time + have a look around.  You can't know everything in a short time so pace yourself.  Posters will always be here to help whenever you want.  bw
