Hello there, I have just found this forum and am hoping that it will help with advice/help to understand my son better. My son is 8 and has been recently diagnosed with aspergers.
We have been trying to get answers since he was at Pre school for some of his behaviours/obsessions that have made our life very difficult for the last 5 years. We paid privately in the end as Camhs said it may take 1-2 years!!! It was a day of mixed emotions, firstly sadness that he was going to find some aspects of life a struggle and secondly relief that we now knew what we were facing and could try to help him betteram
I'm hoping that once I find support groups in my area and learn more about how to cope, life will be easier than it is right now.
