Hello from Japan

Hello, I am Kokoro ("Kokoro" means heart, mind, spirit or soul).
I am a peer support worker for autistic adults in Japan.

You can find my profile and short article on autism at our NPO website.
On April 2 "World Autism Awareness Day", I posted the article.

Title: "Amazingly Intricate Miniatures - The Vast Potential of People with Autism"

I would appreciate it if you could read it and give me your feedback.

  • Great article, Kokoro!

I like to know what is happening around Autism in other countries so I liked learning about how things are in Japan.

Also I agree with you that instead of always focusing on symptoms of Autism we should focus on the work Autistic people do, and recognise it as valuable.

  • Thank you for your feedback, Roswell.
I'm so glad you're interested in people with autism in Japan.

In Japan, job interviews are held from January to March.
It has been almost cancelled due to the Corona.
I'm sure the UK is in a similar situation.

I think we need to feel that "we are not alone".
