Hi I just wanted to be able to talk to people who would understand how i felt, my little boy has adhd and have recently found out he has aspergers as well and he is what they call a high flying intelect, am I confused oh yes, do I sometimes think Im doing something wrong yes do I think i wish he was normal it sounds awful but yes I do, however I absolutely adore my son and we have great love for each other and thanks to his thirst for knowledge I am learing alot so please feel free if you want someone to talk to or if you can give me any advice I look forward to hearing from you

  • hi - the diagnosis can take some getting used to. It takes time to adjust so don't try to do everything at once.   Cut yourself a bit of slack.  You sound like a really good mum. That's one of the reasons this site is so useful.  You can build up your understanding of asd + how it affects your child as an individual.  You sound like you've got a really good relationship.  Understanding his aspergers will enhance that.  He's still the same little boy he always was.  How old is he?
